Offset projects

Both to calculate our CO2 emissions and to compensate for them, we have worked together with the Ecology and Development Foundation (ECODES), a non-profit and independent entity, led by the CeroCO2 initiative..
Its initiative aims to promote responsibility for climate change by proposing that the agents involved are aware of the emissions they generate, reducing them as much as possible and offseting the remaining emissions through projects in developing countries.
Plan de compensación
What does 'Offset CO2 emissions' mean?
To achieve carbon neutrality, there is a final step that consists of offsetting the emissions that entities cannot avoid emitting after applying the reduction plans.

This compensation consists of voluntary contribution the voluntary contribution of an economic amount, proportional to the tons of CO2 generated , for projects that seek to: capture the amount of CO2 equivalent to that generated or avoid the emission of the equivalent amount of CO2 to the atmosphere.

Knowing that the impact of our business activity in 2021 has been 121.49 T of CO2 into the atmosphere , we have made the donation in terms of compensation to two projects.

Perfumes Club Forest
Together with Bosquiaa, we have planted 150 trees in Cué, Llanes, Asturias to restore wealth to a degraded area. The trees planted are native to the area, they are already grown before they are planted to guarantee rooting and are from certified nurseries in the area.

7 different species have been planted to achieve a mixed forest: hawthorn, sessile, holm oak, ash, laurel, birch and buckthorn.
The exact coordinates of our forest are: 43º 24'29.4"N 4º44'21.0"W.
Cué is a coastal area within the municipality of Llanes, of the Principality of Asturias. It is located in the so-called Costa Verde Asturiana, considerada considered a protected landscape due to its vegetation. Por este motivo, For this reason, it is part of the Protected Landscape of the Eastern Coast of Asturias according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

What better than to focus on an area like this in Spain and give it back the life and vegetation that characterises it so much?

We want a living and protected planet, with this action we have offset the emission of 44 tons of CO2 to the planet.
Thank you for always being part of the change.

Conservation of the Peruvian Amazon
The Peruvian Amazon is at great risk of deforestation, especially after the construction of the transoceanic highway that crosses the jungle. Current resources are not enough to adequately control the Amazon rainforest and protect it from farmers, ranchers and illegal loggers who invade it, attracted by the high value and easy access of its forest species.

The project covers 100,000 hectares of jungle.

The forest where the project is located is very important in terms of biodiversity conservation as it is the habitat of four species of trees at risk of extinction and eleven species of animals.

From a social point of view, the project contributes to the sustainable development of rural producers and indigenous communities (Yine and Mashco Piro Tribes) that live in the area, financing ecological production projects.

The project has been doubly validated by two of the most prestigious standards of the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM):

  • Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)
  • Climate Community and Biodiversity Standard (CCBS)

Community reforestation of unused land in San Juan de Limay, Nicaragua
CommuniTree Carbon Program is a community initiative in Nicaragua that brings together small farmers in order to reforest parts of their unused land.

Reforesting disused farmland improves water capture in the dry season and minimises flooding and landslides in the rainy season. In addition, it helps to regulate the water that flows into the nearby Royal Estuary, one of the most important in Central America in terms of biodiversity.

As only seeds of native species are used the genetic wealth that favours the maintenance of mature forests is reinforced, the genetic wealth that favours the maintenance of mature forests is reinforced.

The hectares of jungle recovered contribute to the capture of CO2 globally on the planet and are therefore recognised as a carbon sink by participating in emission compensation programs. The planted trees function as efficient carbon pumps, capturing CO2 from the air and holding it in their plant structures. These trees can grow up to 10 times faster in the area of Nicaragua area than in northern climates and therefore their benefit in the fight against climate change is increased.
Seals of recognition
We are progressing in the right direction and our involvement in environmental and social responsibility projects has helped us to achieve seals that certify all of our actions.

And honestly… we are so proud!
